Running jar file ( Income Tax India Return filing utilty) on debain 10 gives... Error: JavaFX runtime components are missing, and are required to run this application

First install Java if not installed by default

sudo apt install default-jre

Test it with java -version

if you want to install JDK

sudo apt install default-jdk

Test it with javac -version

Install Javafx 

sudo apt install openjfx  

Add module-path with argument like

java --module-path /usr/share/openjfx/lib/ --add-modules=javafx.base --add-modules=javafx.fxml --add-modules=javafx.graphics --add-modules=javafx.controls  --add-modules=javafx.media --add-modules=javafx.web  --add-modules=javafx.controls --add-modules=javafx.swing -jar ITR-3_AY201920_PR2.jar 








Debain buster not showing Windows Network Shared Folder. Connect to server smb:// not working

In spite of all setting of Samba on Debian buster not accessing Windows Network from Explorer or not working smb://192.168.1.3 (window ip address or computer name)

After the successful installation of smbclient opens the up the /etc/samba/smb.conf file and right after the workgroup = WORKGROUP add the below line to change the default.

client max protocol = NT1

if not working try...

client min protocol = NT1

you just need to save the file and reboot the system.

Note: Reboot is necessary otherwise the above solution will not work.

Repair or Reinstall Grub boot loader on dual boot Windows & Linux

Update Windows system on dual boot machine with Debain 10. Boot menu disappear after updating or replacing Windows 7

Boot from Linux Live CD Ubuntu/Mint or any other

1. mount your Linux installed partition to some mount point. here XY is the number of your Linux distro partition.

   sudo mount <root-partition[e.g. /dev/sdaXY]> <mount-point[e.g. /mnt/]>
   

2. Now bind some essential live root partition directories to mounted root partition at /mnt.

   sudo mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev && sudo mount --bind /dev/pts /mnt/dev/pts && sudo mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc && sudo mount --bind /sys /mnt/sys
   

3. Now, change the root to newly mounted partition directory.

   sudo chroot <mount-point[e.g. /mnt/]>
   

4. Now, install the GRUB using grub-install command at your HDD MBR.

   grub-install /dev/sda
   

5. Finally update the grub entries to show newly detected partition operating systems.

   update-grub
   

6. And at last unmount all the binded partition directories, and then reboot.

   sudo reboot
   

Boot Debian 10 with splash screen

edit file /etc/default/grub

for safety before edit file copy file with new name :
sudo cp grub grub_bakup

commnet line:
#GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet"
add new line
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash video=SVIDEO-1:d"







Save file

run in terminal:
sudo update-grub

Restart System

Raspberry Pi B+ Model HDMI to VGA Problem

Using HDMI to VGA converter ( using old VGA Montors)  gives with Raspberry Pi may create following problems:

- No Display
- Inconsistent Display ( Some time on/Some time off )
- Display Suddenly go off

Pl Check /BOOT/config.txt file
and make sure following lines there

disable_overscan=1
hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=16
hdmi_drive=2

disable_overscan=1

Perl Script gives 500 Internal server error on shared hosting

Perl script throws error...

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Following steps need to solve problem
Just try following code with test.pl...with execution permission (755) on folder (cgi-bin) www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/ and file test.pl
#!/usr/bin/perl
print "Content-type: text/plain\n\n";
print "testing...\n";

and if it works than no problem with server side configuration.

If not works than add -w in first line...

#!/usr/bin/perl -w

if not works than it may server configuration problem

Server migration problems and php with pear display blank page (PHP Path Problem)

My service provider( linux share hosting ) migrated my website to another server and following problems started
1)
require_once("DB.php"); gives error...

if you replace require_once("DB.php");
WITH full path...
require_once("/home/username/php/DB.php");
THAN IT DISPLAY BLANK PAGE!!!

Possible Solutions:

1) If your service provider ready to edit php.ini than request them to add PEAR path (most recommended )
2) edit .htaccess file and add

php_value include_path "/yourpath/mywebsite" ( NOT Recommended )

you may have to use ALLOW OVERRIDE 

3) edit your source code and add path

$path = '/home/username/php/';
set_include_path($path . PATH_SEPARATOR . get_include_path()); 

Conclusion:

ALL SHARE HOSTING PROVIDER must co-operate their user and

check all path with php.ini

"Access is Denied" error message when you try to open a folder

To retrieve data from Hard disk ( from other/old Machine and connected as secondary in the new/data retrieval machine boot with winXp with Primary hard disk ) WinXp.
Will not allow to access folders as different user permission with old machine.

With WinXp Change setting Date to dd/MM/yyyy ( Control Panel- Regional and Langauge Options - Customized - Date - Short Date )

Restrict users to specified programs or applications in WindowsXp

-Login as an administarator
-Run Policy editor ( start - run - gpedit.msc )
-Navigate following folder...
Local Computer Policy\User Configuration\Administrative Templates\System in the left pane
-Now double click the option Don't Run specified Windows applications in the right pane.
-Now select the Enabled and click Show button
-In the Show Contents dialog box type the name of the application (.exe file name) which you want to allow user not to run under List of Not allowed applications statement.
For eg. type iexplore.exe not to allow Internet Explorer to run.
-If you want to add more applications then type their names under the first one and so on.
-Click OK button.
-Click Apply and then OK button in Run only specified Windows applications window.
-Close Local Group Policy Editor window and you are done.

I want to import data from Local file(CSV) to Mysql 5.0 table with only selected column.

My PHP code is... as per Mysql5.0 syntax

It gives syntax error.

Following works fine... put column(field) list at the end.

I was using PEAR HTML_Quick_forms and using my ISP PEAR.php and Quickform.php I got following message..

Solution:
I made following change in Quickform.php...
line
require_once 'PEAR.php';
replace with line
require_once 'PEAR5.php';

just force to use PEAR5

You may also change PEAR.php by adding if (!function_exists("_pear_call_destructors()")){
before line
function _pear_call_destructors(){
also add } after end of Function.

JavaScript Dynamic content Generation Problem

if you generate dynamic content through JavaScript by
document.write('<html><head><h2>'+ varHeading +'</h2></head><body></body></html>');
this page will works fine but if you generate more dynamic content from this page onward it will not display anything without any error.
Solution:
every phase should end with document.close();

MYSql 5 GROUP BY query not support Field Name "div"

in MySql 5 query...
SELECT std,div,rollno,marks FROM result_data GROUP BY std,div
gives Error...
Error is due to field name div
Solution: Change Field Name div -> divi or other.

It works fine with MySql 4.

readonly not works in JavaScript DOM
